Nota Bene, Stevens and Bolton Office Choir

Nota Bene, Stevens and Bolton Office Choir

Conductor

I studied orchestral conducting with John Longstaff at Huddersfield University, and choral conducting with Peter Broadbent, Therees Tcak-Hibbard (ABCD) and Jo McNally. I studied choral conducting with PB, TT-H . I gained my Doctoral Degree in Choral Conducting under the guidance of Dr. John Dickson at Texas Tech University, USA.

I have held numerous Musical Directorship posts over the years, ranging from Youth and Community Choirs to Choral Societies and Chamber Choirs. I recently held a five-year post as Musical Director for the Royal College of Music Junior Department Choirs, and worked on BBC2’s The Choir: Sing while you work (second series) as MD for the Sainsburys choir.

I bring a fresh, dynamic and creative approach to choral leadership and enjoy all levels of choral training. I currently conduct Dorking Camerata, a fine chamber choir of 24 members, Holmbury Choral Society, consistent winners of the Leith Hill Musical Festival, and Nota Bene, Stevens and Bolton work place choir (based in Guildford).

Amy, It was nothing short of sheer pleasure from start to end. Amy you do wonders with that choir with relatively little rehearsal and they sounded vibrant and energised throughout the day. A wonderful honour to have my piece performed again.”
Craig McLeish, Composer

I always aim to plan diverse and interesting programmes for my choirs, ranging from Baroque works with period ensembles, through to Gospel music complete with band, and everything in between. New commissions and world premieres have also been initiated and performed. For more information please visit the choir websites: Holmbury St Mary Choral Society  |  Dorking Camerata
